Clare College Song Competition - Applications now open

Clare College is proud to announce the Clare College Song Competition for solo singers and piano accompanists studying at Cambridge University, with a panel consisting of Graham Ross, Nicholas Mulroy, Timothy Brown, Nicola Jane Kemp, and world-renowned accompanist Malcolm Martineau. 

 

1st prize:
The Clare College Singer’s Prize, £200
A London lunchtime recital at St Olave’s & St Katherine Cree with your ‘Final’ accompanist
Professional Oratorio Soloist concert with Davies Music.
 
2nd prize:
£100
A London lunchtime recital at St. Bride’s, Fleet St., with your ‘Final’ accompanist
 
Piano Accompaniment
1st Prize – The Clare College Accompanist’s Prize, £150
(not necessarily from the winning singer’s duo)
 
Any singers and their pianists from the Semi-final/Final may be invited to take part in a public masterclass with Malcolm Martineau on the afternoon of the Final.

 

HOW TO APPLY:
 
 
An Application Form plus an entry fee of £20 as a cheque made payable to Clare College should be sent in an envelope addressed to:

by 3pm on Wednesday 26 November 2014.
 
IN ADDITION, an unedited recording of two ‘Art’ songs – one English and one foreign language (NB: ‘Art’ songs do NOT include works from opera, oratorio, operetta or musicals), unedited and recent (less than 3 months).  They must be uploaded to a YouTube channel, Dropbox or Vimeo and the shared links sent to BOTH njkemp1@gmail.com and gr267@cam.ac.uk by 8pm on Wednesday 26 November 2014.
 
Successful applicants for the Semi-Final will be informed within 5-7 days of their application.
