EUROPE - Bruges | Milan | Utrecht | Darmstadt | Hagen | London

The Choir joined forces with the European Union Baroque Orchestra under the direction of Lars Ulrik Mortensen for a series of engagements across Europe.  Centered around Handel’s Coronation Anthems, the programme also included the composer's Utrecht Te Deum, Utrecht Jubilate and Ode for the Birthday of Queen Anne.  Gorgeous weather greeted the Choir in every location, allowing the singers to sample the cultural pursuits of Bruges (and the stronger-than-anticipated Belgian beer), the ‘Cambridge-ness’ of Utrecht and, for some, an evening watching a Champion’s League match at Milan’s San Siro stadium.

Further appearances included two sell-out performances in the German towns of Hagen and Darmstadt, before returning to the UK for one final performance of the repertoire at St. John's, Smith Square, the recording of which was released on the Obsidian label.
The critical - and social - success of the tour would pave the way for a repeat collaboration with the orchestra in 2014!
