700th anniversary – Lent Term

To celebrate the 700th anniversary of Clare College’s founding, each Sunday service this term will focus on different alumni from each century of Clare, with the music sung by the Choir at each service corresponding to the appropriate century. These services will be paired with pre-service recitals from a range of Clare alumni and current students, again performing music from the 14th century to the modern day. Highlights include Tallis’ Spem in alium, the world premiere of a new work by Nico Muhly written specially for the Choir, and a performance of Bach’s cantata Nach dir, Herr, verlanget mich.
