The Choir of Clare College, Cambridge were delighted to make their debut performances around northern Denmark. They sung a morning service at Mariager Kirke performing works by Byrd, Victoria and Anna Thovaldsdóttir amongst a host of Danish hymns. That same afternoon, following a delicious lunch and a stroll to the fjords, the Choir delivered their programme A Lenten Sequence, a Capella music ranging from Ash Wednesday to Easter Sunday. It was a huge pleasure for the Choir of Clare College, Cambridge to be invited to perform alongside the Aalborg Symphony Orchestra with soloists Gareth Brynmor John (baritone) and Elsa Benoit (soprano) at Musikkens Hus, Aalborg, a concert that was broadcasted on Danish Radio.

The Choir of Clare College, Cambridge are delighted to announce the release of their latest album of Icelandic choral music with Carolyn Sampson, soprano, The Dmitri Ensemble and Graham Ross on harmonia mundi international.
Icelandic music of the last half century is the focus of this recording led by conductor, Graham Ross. Born from his close collaboration with the native composers of the “Land of Fire and Ice,” this programme sets out to explore and highlight their hypnotic soundworld, instinctively leaning towards contemplation. A prime example is the touchingly beautiful Requiem by Sigurður Sævarsson, which here receives its world premiere recording.
