EUROPE – Rotterdam | Echternach | Nantes

Following on from the success of last year’s collaboration, we once again joined forces with the brilliant European Union Baroque Orchestra for another Handellian concert tour across Europe, visiting Rotterdam, Echternach and Nantes.

Countertenor Alex Potter joined the Choir for a reprise of Handel’s Utrecht Te Deum and Jubilate, as well as William Croft’s sublime miniature The Soul of musick.

Commemorating the 300th Anniversary of the 1714 Treaty of Utrecht, this also gave the Choir the opportunity to perform Herbert Howells’ unaccompanied anthemTake him, Earth, for cherishing, composed for the death of President J.F. Kennedy.  Later this summer, the Choir was able to visit the location of Kennedy’s assasination in Dallas, Texas, whilst touring the Southern States – see ‘September 2014’.
