Having now made three recordings for our American record label, Harmonia Mundi USA, we were ecstatic to take up another invitation to perform in the USA, this time on a tour of the Southern States. Sights we visted included a trip to Graceland, the home of Elvis Presley.
Acclimatised to ‘the Good Life’ after our sun-drenched trip to Malta earlier in the summer, the sun-shine did not disappoint as we travelled East from Atlanta to Dallas, visiting sights such as a trip to Graceland, the home of Elvis Presley! We were generously welcomed by all of our hosts along the course of our travels, ensuring that the well-known ‘Southern hospitality’ characteristic was very much in evidence.
All of our concert programmes celebrated the best of the Anglican choral tradition, ending each evening with Britten’s Rejoice in the Lamb and an encore of Stanford’s The Blue Bird to standing ovations from our American friends.
